LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The day has probably left some drivers confused after Friday's slush turned to thick ice overnight, and then the sun came out, melting of it away.
In downtown and West Little Rock, several places are looking clear, and people have headed the warnings to stay off the roads for the most part, but once it gets dark, those temperatures will drop and the wet roads will turn to ice again.
"We made great progress last night in maintaining the primary highway system throughout the state, especially here in central Arkansas, great progress," said Danny Strassle with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. "[But], with 10 percent patches of ice out there, it still presents a danger to the public."
Not everyone is staying of the roads, and that is what Strassle fears.
"Today wasn't bad; I've been back and forth from Maumelle a couple times today. So it wasn't bad at all really," said driver Kaleb Clouse.
