Church offers public 'Ashes to Go' | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The following was sent in an email to Today's THV:
On Wednesday, February 22 - Ash Wednesday, St. Margaret's Episcopal Church will offer "Ashes to Go". Ashes are an ancient sign of penitence, and from the Middle Ages, it has been the custom to begin the season of Lent by being marked in ash with the sign of the cross. The reminder that we are dust turns our attention to the creative power of God, and God's ability to heal the brokenness in our lives when we offer that brokenness to God.
We will offer ashes to the public at the Promenade in West Little Rock beginning at noon because the reminder of our need, humility and healing shouldn't be confined to a church building. Everyone is welcome.
We will offer the full Liturgy of Ash Wednesday at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church at 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The church is located at 20900 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, 72223. The media is invited for pictures/filming as desired. Contact us with questions at 821-1311.
